H. G. Wells: The War of the Worlds (Tor Classics)
Go to http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/ for some free copies of classic books.
Lewis Carroll: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass
One of the many (free!) e-books I've found. I love free books.
Michael F. Roizen: You: The Owner's Manual : An Insider's Guide to the Body that Will Make You Healthier and Younger
i.e. Health and Nutrition for Dummies.
Steven D. Levitt: Freakonomics : A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
This book was worth buying for its hypothesis surrounding the fall in crime rates in the 1990s. Very easy reading for the subject matter - almost too much fluff and not enough substance.
Studs Terkel: Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do
Really fascinating, and a lot of jobs you'd probably never want to have.
Jared Diamond: Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies
Absolutely beautiful!
